Bread Vada

Description

Generally we think that Low calorie food is boring and bland,and should  eat only fruits and vegetable. but you will be surprised to realize that low calorie dishes can be so tasty ! try this low calorie bread vada.

* Bread slices -4 (for four vadas)
* Sev(aalu bhujia of haldiram would be better)-1 table spoon
* Onion-1 small size finally chopped
* Tomato-1 small size,deseed and finally chopped
* Green chilli -1 finally chopped
* Curd -1 cup(Strain and whip well)
* Coriander leaves-1 tbs chopped
* Tamarind chutney(sonth) -4 tea spoon
* Rock salt & plain salt -to taste
* Roasted cumin seed powder-1 tea spoon
* Red chilli powder-to taste

Methods/steps

1. For stuffing, take a bowl mix sev, chopped onion, tomato, chili, coriander leaves.
2. Take water in a deep bottomed bowl. Dip a bread slice in the water for 2-3 secs and take out the bread slice.
3. Press the bread slice with both hands and squeeze out the excess water.
4. Put 1 tbsp of stuffing on the bread slice and fold the moist bread on all sides, seal the top edge properly to form a round ball. Press slightly to form the shape of a vada. Repeat process with all the bread slices
5. Mix little salt in curd.
6. Place the bread vadas in a serving bowl. Add the  curd on top. Sprinkle rock salt ,cumin and chili powder and chutney on top.
7. Serve with curd, chutney, rock salt and bhujiya for extra helpings

Additional Tips

* Bread vada should be serve in an individual plates immediately.
* In place of sev's  boiled sprouts or potatoes.can be used.
