Groundnut Chikki
Description
Chiniya bedam gudpatti (Groundnut chikki) is very popular among bhojpuri people. Generally It is made on the occasion of festival Makar Sankranti (Khichadi).
Ingredients
* Groundnuts, skinned, roasted, pounded roughly -1 and 1/2 cup
* Sticky jaggery -1 cup
* Clarified butter (ghee) or oil- for greasing -1 tbs
Methods/steps
1. Heat jaggery in 1/2 cup water till the syrup is hard ball consistency.
2. Test its consistency by putting a drop in cold water -it should remain firm.
3. Add groundnuts. Grease small plates to give round shapes or if u want square shape then grease a board and spread the groundnut-jaggery mixture.
4. Roll flat to 1 cm thickness. Cut into desired shapes and sizes when sufficiently cool and hardened.
5. Store in a container lined with butter paper.


Additional Tips
* Any kind of dry fruits can be use instead of groundnuts like almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts etc.
