Lavang Latta is one of the most popular sweet dish of Bhojpuries. This dessert is made especially during the festival of Diwali, Teej, and Durga Pooja. It is a sweet recipe. You can make Lavang Latta recipe in your home also.

* Refined flour/maida-250g
* Desi ghee -125g
* Warm milk-1/2cup
* Baking powder-1tsp
* Cloves-for for securing
* Raisins -10
* Water-1cup
* Desi ghee or oil -for frying

For Filling
* Condensed milk/mawa-2tbs
* Grated dry coconut-1tbs
* Sugar powder-1tbs
* Green cardamoms, crushed-3

For Syrup
* Sugar-200g
* water-2cup

Methods/steps

* Seive flour with baking powder,rub 125g ghee to the flour ,add milk,water and knead well to make stiff dough.cover with wet cloth and Let the dough lie for 2 hr.
* Make a filling by mixing the mawa,coconut , raisins, sugar and green cardamoms together.
* Heat the sugar and water and make a thick syrup (one or two string consistency)
* Make small bolls and roll out each dough ball in the shape of a circle. Put a spoon of filling mixture in the middle and apply water on the edges ,close the opposite edges to meet in the middle over the mixture to form a strip. Seal the edges and poke a clove in the middle.
* Heat ghee or oil in a frying pan in a low flame .and deep fry till golden brown.
* After that dip all lavang latta's in the sugar syrup .keep it for 5 minutes .after remove and arrange in a serving tray.

Additional Tips

Lavang latta can be made in different shapes also like triangle ,roll out each dough ball in the shape of a circle. Put a spoon of Khoya mixture in the middle and apply water on the edges and fold into a triangle and seal with clove.
